It appears that the former Junta number two man Edward Singhateh, is trying to evade justice in this post dictator Jammeh misrule era, as the ECOWAS Vice President and his family are heading out to the United Kingdom tonight, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Singhateh, who has been link to the assassination of Gambia’s former Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay, and dozens of extra-judicial killings involving some former officers of the defunct Gambian National Army, left Ghana, today for England, accompanied by his pregnant wife Aja Kaddy Jaiteh Kabba. Singhateh and his wife are expected to arrive in the UK 12 AM in the morning UK Time.
Mr. Singhateh was born in the UK. His Mum is a White British, while his late father hailed from the Basse region. He grew up in the Gambia, where he attended his High School education together with his junior brother Peter Singhateh, and the rest of the family.
Earlier on today, we received a news tip off about Edu’s plan exit route from Ghana, to possibly resettle in his original birth of place England. Mr. Singhateh, who graduated from the University of The Gambia Law Faculty, briefly practiced law in Banjul, before the former Kanilai monster nominated him for the position of ECOWAS Vice president position. His nomination was unanimously accepted by the regional bloc. He practiced law in the Gambia, before his ECOWAS assignment.
It is not clear if the British government will allow him and his family to stay in their country—given the atrocities associated with the former Junta Vice Chairman. It was during Edu’s watch as Defense Minister, that the November 11, coupists were executed in grand style without availing them the right to be heard in a court of law. Dozens of army officers were allegedly killed by Edu and his men. Among those killed were: Lt. Gibirl Saye, Lt. Abdoulie Dot Faal, Lt. Basiru Barrow, Cadet Sillah, just to name a few.
Mr. Singhateh has also been accused of partaking in the assassination of former Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay. He served in various capacities in the former Jammeh administration. His last assignment was Trade Minister, a position he held until his firing. He later enrolled at the UTG Law Faculty, where he graduated as a “lawyer.”
Mr. Singhaeh has sensed that he might soon be fired by the Barrow government. Hence, he decided to evade justice.
